The Prince of Preachers of Our Day Has Gone Home

"He was the prince of preachers of our day". That was the comment made by a friend of mine upon hearing of the homegoing of Dr. Adrian Rogers.

I never had the honor of meeting Dr. Rogers personally. Our working relationship with Love Worth Finding though gave me a little more insight into the man that maybe a most folks had, and he was to me, a true hero of the faith.

His solid, never-swaying voice for biblical truth was unlike any other. It was by his leadership that the Southern Baptist Convention stayed true to the absolute authority of God's Word and did not go the way of so many other denominations toward the liberal bend.

His voice was authoritative, consistent and charging and comforting. The example he leaves behind will shape the lives and ministries of thousands in the years to come. Today, Adrian Rogers touched the face of the One he so loved to tell others about, and I look forward to seeing the Lord Jesus too, along with the friend and mentor I never met, Dr. Rogers.
